How to use this sheet

Sight marks are not a personality trait. They belong to a bow at a brace height, a draw weight, an arrow spine, and a point weight. Change any of those and last season’s 70-metre mark is a rumour. This sheet is built around that idea. Across the top you write archer, bow setup, and date. Under that, in cream, the page says the thing coaches repeat: one sheet is one bow setup. Marks do not carry over if spine, point weight, or draw weight changes.

The table starts with the usual outdoor and indoor distances: 18, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, and 90. Uncheck the ones you never shoot. Add a custom distance if your field has a 35-metre walk-back or a 15-yard blank. Switch the unit to yards if you live in Imperial indoor rounds. Columns are optional. Elevation is the mark almost everyone needs. Windage matters if you tape a second scale or you shoot in a consistent crosswind. Date set tells you which mark is stale. Notes hold “slightly high in rain” or “new serving.”

Equipment fields sit under the table: brace height, tiller, spine, arrow length, point weight, nock, rest, plunger, stabilizers, and date last tuned. Uncheck the rows you do not use. Compound archers might skip plunger; barebow skip sight elevation entirely and still want spine and brace. Setup notes at the bottom are lined for the sentence you will not remember in six weeks.

Print one copy per bow, not one copy per archer with three bows squeezed into the notes column. When you re-tune, start a new sheet rather than editing in denser pencil. Confirm new marks on the range — a printed number is a starting point, which is also what the footer tells you. If you want a calculated sight mark table from two known distances, the handicap calculator on this site has a sight-mark tab. This PDF is the paper record you take to the field when the phone stays in the bag.

FAQ

Why does the sheet say one bow setup?
Sight marks move when brace height, tiller, spine, point weight, or draw weight changes. A new setup gets a new sheet so you do not mix marks.
Can I log yards instead of metres?
Yes. Switch the unit control to yards. The distance list is the same numbers; you choose which unit the column means.
How do I add a distance that is not in the list?
Use the custom distance field to add a number such as 35. It is merged into the table in order with the ticked standard distances.
Is this a free printable sight mark chart?
Yes. Toggle the columns and equipment fields you want, download the PDF, and print it. No sign-up is required.
Does this calculate marks from two known distances?
No. It is a blank log. For a calculated table, use the sight marks tab on the Archery GB handicap calculator, then copy numbers onto this sheet if you want paper.
